XVIII International AIDS Conference in Vienna in 2010. Staffan Hildebrand talks about the role of the International AIDS Conference and reflects on some of the most important conferences over time in his opinion. He talks about the very first AIDS conference in Atlanta in 1985 which focused primarily on the Western situation, the conference in Stockholm in 1988 which shifted its focus to the developing countries, and the conference held in Vancouver in 1996 after the breakthrough of the new antiretroviral therapy.
