American actress Sharon Stone talks about her memories of Rock Hudson and her work with amfAR. She reflects on AIDS and stigma, how to reach out to young people, and the importance of communication in order to change the sexual behaviors of young people.

The 21 years old Botswanan hip hop artist Oracle talks about social stigma, parent-child relations regarding AIDS, how to influence the young people in Botswana, the possibility of changing sexual behavior, and his thoughts on the origin of HIV/AIDS.

Lars Olof Kallings talks about the global AIDS situation and what the international community can do. He reflects on the role of men, women and young people in the fight against AIDS, and stresses the importance of activists and voluntary organizations.

This production was made as the opening film for the IV International AIDS Conference in Stockholm in June 1988. It gives a broad representation of the global AIDS situation in the late 1980's, and has a particular focus on social structures, poverty and stigma.

Dr Robert Gallo is interviewed in the laboratory about the HIV virus and his ongoing work. He also talks with his team and discusses the question of international collaboration with Lars Olof Kallings. He answers questions about HIV and AIDS, drugs and promiscuity.
