Staffan Hildebrand looks back on his 25 years of documenting the HIV and AIDS epidemic for the Face of AIDS Film Archive. The film portrays a shift from pessimism towards a growing optimism in the response to HIV and AIDS.

This is a short film about the global HIV and AIDS response lead by the young generation. Youths and representatives of community networks and health care centers in Cambodia, United States, Mexico, Botswana, Russia and India talk about HIV awareness and prevention.

This film tells the US story of the AIDS epidemic starting in the early 1980's. Scientists and activists, both pioneers and youths of today, talk about research, prevention, treatment and care. They also discuss stigma, homophobia and poverty as closely related to HIV and AIDS.

This film is about women from different parts of the world who are active in the HIV activist movement. They discuss gender inequality and the exposed situation of women and girls and explain the educational and empowering work which they are doing in their communities.

In the last part of the interview with Dr Anthony Fauci he reflects on the global HIV/AIDS situation and response. He also compares AIDS to other diseases such as the Bird Flu, and discusses the specific social and socioeconomic factors of HIV/AIDS.

This is the third part of the interview with Dr Anthony Fauci. Here he talks about the American AIDS movement in the early 80's with activists such as the writer Larry Kramer in the frontline, and the time when he invited the leading activists up to his office.

Last part of the interview with the American AIDS activist and founder of Project Inform, Martin Delaney, in 2006. Here he talks about AIDS activism and the different stages of the antiretroviral drug development from AZT to triple combination treatment.
