Daria Hazuda from MSD explains the virology of HIV and talks about the past clinical studies on ARV, in particular integrase inhibitors, which she has been involved in. She also reflects on HIV as an exceptional virus and how to influence a new generation of HIV researchers.

Professor Sikhamani Rajasekaran, Supervisor of the Tambaram Hospital in Chennai, talks about the HIV/AIDS outbreak in India, the prevalence of TB co-infection and the services at Tambaram Hospital as well as the need for second-line antiretroviral treatment options.

Sten Vermund from University of Alabama reflects on the history of the global AIDS epidemic and his involvement in the field as a young scientist in the 80's. He discusses the social and economic factors of HIV/AIDS, such as stigma, poverty and the drug industry.
