The 21 years old Botswanan hip hop artist Oracle talks about social stigma, parent-child relations regarding AIDS, how to influence the young people in Botswana, the possibility of changing sexual behavior, and his thoughts on the origin of HIV/AIDS.

Background material

"It was very amazing to film with Oracle and his energetic hip hop group during five days in Gabarone, Botswana. At the time we were filming them, they participated in the African Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Partnership (ACHAP) HIV prevention campaign. They toured high schools and youth events to perform but also to spread a clear message of safe sex and HIV prevention to teenagers. It reminded me of how important it is to integrate youth culture into prevention strategy if you are to be successful. Oracle had an electric contact with his young audience in Gabarone, one of the most hard hit cities in Africa with a 25-30% of HIV prevalence." - Staffan Hildebrand
